Tod Buckvar
Tod has over 35 years of commercial real estate experience as a Long Island owner, developer, broker, tax consultant and valuation expert. He is the founder and managing partner of JSR, and his investment portfolio demonstrates an expertise in value add and opportunistic investments, with a portfolio that includes the former LI headquarter buildings of Northrop Grumman, Entenmann’s, Del Labs and Castro Convertibles. Over his career he has represented buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords and lending institutions.
Tod is also the founder of Realty Tax Challenge, Inc., a premier property tax consulting firm, servicing owners and tenants on a local and national basis. RTC’s clients include Pepsi, CVS, Siemens, Raymour & Flannigan, and Wegmans. Since 1997 they have successfully challenged the valuation of more than $1 billion in real estate assets, achieving more than $50 million in tax savings. Tod is also an active member of Long Island Builders Institute and is a founding member and former Head of Membership of Woodbury Jewish Center.
Mark Fischl
Mark brings over 38 years of experience to JSR Capital Group. Mark is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), where he is a member of its Oversight & Clean Energy and Finance & Audit committees. Mark has worked with several municipalities throughout Long Island to restore high profile contaminated sites to productive use, creating jobs and generating real estate taxes. Mark is also the trustee for a 30-acre site that required an environmental cleanup in excess of $50 million.
Prior to joining JSR, Mark spent 13 years at RGE managing commercial properties; responsible for the acquisition of approximately 1 million square feet of space and as the asset manager for over 2 million square feet of office and industrial space, working with tenants such as Stop and Shop, Northrop Grumman, Shop Rite, the US Post Office, The New School and CVS. Mark was also involved in the development of retail, industrial and residential properties, including 90 apartments by the Copiague train station with Conifer Properties. Mark is an avid tennis player and the former President and Vice President of the American Platform Tennis Association.
Bill Mannix
Upon retiring from public service, Bill joined JSR Capital Group in 2020. Bill had most recently served as Director of the Town of Islip’s Department of Economic Development for 27 years. During his career, he was involved in more than 500 development projects involving the IDA, the New York State Empire Zones Program and other local, state, and federal economic development initiatives. Together, these projects led to the creation or retention of more than 50,000 jobs and facilitated more than $2.2 billion in private investments. Bill also served two separate terms as Islips’ Deputy Supervisor.
Bill’s professional honors include the New York State Economic Developer of the Year, the Paul B. Townsend Spirit of Long Island Award, the John Kominicki Legacy Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the New York State Economic Development Council.
Bill currently serves as a board member for the Long Island Business Development Council. He is a former board member and Past Chair of the NYSEDC and he served for many years as a board member of both the International Economic Development Council and the Suffolk County Workforce Development Board.
Jillian Buckvar
Jillian Buckvar serves as the COO, where her responsibilities encompass the full spectrum of development projects, from initial conceptualization to successful completion. Jillian is responsible for orchestrating project acquisitions, obtaining government entitlements and incentives, managing tenant procurement, and providing oversight to the construction team. In addition to these vital responsibilities, she leads financial analysis and contract negotiations with precision.
Jillian serves as an Associate Director for Long Island Business Development Council. She has 12+ years of Real Estate development experience. Prior to joining JSR Capital Group, she worked as a Project Manager for an NYC-based Architecture Firm.
Dermot Kelly – Director of Acquisitions
Dermot brings over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate to the team. Prior to joining JSR Investment, Dermot was the Nassau County Director of Real Estate responsible for privatizing over 1 million SF of county owned real estate. Additionally, he spent 20 years at Empire State Development where he rose to the position of Vice President of Portfolio Management and Property Redevelopment. During his career, he was involved in the sale and redevelopment of high-profile New York State psychiatric centers including Hutchinson Metro Center, Rockland County and Pilgrim State.
Charles Messi – Construction Supervisor
Charles has over 45 years of experience in the construction industry. He was formerly Vice President of Construction and Operation at RD Management LLC. He was responsible for an annual construction budget in excess of $75 million and the management of over 20 million SF of shopping centers in 31 states and Puerto Rico. Additionally, Charles was formerly the Vice President of Construction and Operations at Breslin Realty Development Corp., where he was responsible for an annual construction budget that exceeded $20 million and the management of over 10 million square feet of shopping centers.
